Sharon Doughty, a former Sky and BBC television presenter, is offering CYP officers the opportunity to take part in a two-hour communication workshop which will give an insight into crime prevention resources available to schools and community-based settings. The resources have been created with the help and support of Essex Police and the Dotcom Digital resource was launched with children from Thurrock and the Chief Constable of Essex last year at the British Education Technical Trade Show.
During the workshop, Sharon will demonstrate the resources and how they can be used by professionals working with children and young people to talk about sensitive issues, risks and consequences. Sharon has been an adviser to the police and Home Office for the past 15 years and was the victim of violence and abuse in her childhood. Using her personal and professional experience she will share practical tools for communicating with children and young people about subjects which can be challenging.
